Byron Sixth Form College provides high-quality sixth form education for students in East Durham. Offering opportunities for success to a wider group of students on a wide range of courses.

Byron Sixth Form College is the result of a partnership between all seven secondary schools in the area. The partnership's aim is to provide world class education to all its students in a landmark new building. While this is being developed, Byron College is housed in separate accommodation on the St Bede's site.

In recent years we have continued to improve. In September 2006 we were designated as a Specialist College in Humanities. We are proud of our exam results achieving a high of 100% pass rate at A level.

Moving into post-16 education is an important and exciting time for students. We aim to create the right balance between a more adult and independent learning environment and the traditional values of support and encouragement.

 At Byron College there is a real difference in the teaching style and learning environment. There is a friendly and caring atmosphere, students have the opportunity to use study periods for independent learning and preparation.
