Welcome to Byron College. We are a highly regarded sixth form college which resulted from a partnership of all seven secondary schools in the area as well as with East Durham Sixth Form College. We aim to provide high quality sixth form education for students in East Durham and beyond.
We have continued to improve and are proud of the achievements of our students who achieved a pass rate of 99.4% in 2011. We are proud of the fact that we have always at least matched but regularly exceeded both the local and national pass rates.
We offer a real difference in our teaching styles and learning environment, aiming to create the right balance between a more adult, independent and challenging learning environment and the traditional, all important, values of support, guidance and encouragement.
Our aim is thus to offer high quality education to ensure that every student fulfils his/her potential in a safe, supportive, caring and stimulating environment and that our students enjoy the time they spend with us.
